BEAT MY FIVE: TITAS OF MANILA

Medyo matagal na ang term na ito, there are hundreds of articles, blog posts, meron pa ngang libro about this. That is the reason why I am making mine. If you would read some of my posts you would realize that beyond all the things I can do well, are some bad things and this, observing or people watching. Not in a creepy way though… Well sometimes, maybe sa iba medyo creepy nga hehe. Sorry.

So this is my first entry for the year. I know I know, it took me sometime, but it is not because I had nothing to write, but only the time to literally sit and finish it. I hope after this entry you would have some sort of an image kung ano para sa akin ang tunay na Titas of Manila. Enjoy! Talk to all of you soon.

BEAT MY FIVE: TITAS OF MANILA

1. Age is important but not a requirement – Yup! You just have to be old enough to have a batch-mate o mga kapatid na may asawa na, at syempre anak. Well para sa akin you should have that caring MOTHERLY vibe na parang mag mamano ka na kapag nagkikita kayo. =D

Another reason kung bakit sinabi kong 25 years old and above, is that you have to be at the middle of everything. Kaylangan na experience mong maghintay ng kakilala at hindi alam kung darating pa ba sila dahil di pa uso cellphone masyado, and also be able to be active and literate sa mainstream stuff katulad ng social media. You should have a slice of ka cornyhan pero you shouldn’t be disconnected either. Charot!

2. Look The Part – I don’t think there is a clear distinction kung anong sinusuot o itsura ng isang member, dahil iba iba naman ang taste ng mga tao. One thing that napansin ko, is kung totoong basic member ka, you have to be at least konting out of shape. Not noticeably fat or downright obese, baggy maybe pero hindi sobrang taba. Pero dahil hindi na sila ganoon ka fit, they tend to choose comfort and simplicity than layers and layers of unnecessary clothings, parang yung pic nayan. Actually even the body type is the same.  Occasionally, an over the top hikaw or bracelet can be a part of this ensemble.

Basta kagaya ng edad, it has to reflect the clothes and the body. Right there in the middle.

3. You got to have some coin – I am not talking about the Ayala Zobel rich type of ladies. Well, maybe I am too, but in general, most Titas of Manila, has some spending power in the smallest or the biggest kind. They might be born in wealth, or most of the time, they are not married yet and they don’t have any major priorities. Kapag pinagsama mo yung sinasabi kong…

…motherly, I love kids/ the greatest ninang ever, =D – at Pera.

Then I think you would have a legitimate member of the club. Ano to kwarta o kahon? Sorry super old reference, pramis diko inabutan yun. Hehe…

My point is you cannot do your routine at mang spoil ng inaanak o pamangkin habang nag ppraktis mag bake kung wala kang andaness girl… hehe

4. Hobbies are important – Yes dito ka nagkakaruon ng motherly aura, at dahil wala kang obligation, you would always have the time to take care of the kids at ang mga hobbies na meron ka kung hindi nag originate sa pag aalaga mo. But more importantly you have to like kids and they have to adore you too.

May kaibigan ako before she is a god-mother sa isang bata na at his early age of 6 years old is already ambidextrous. It’s nice to see the love and passion sa batang iyon pero sometimes, well, siguro nga hindi na nya kaylanman maiisip na hindi sila mag kamag anak! Hehe.. Pero because of that love sa batang yun close narin sya dilang sa parents ng bata but pati sa mga kapatid nya at iba pang kamaganak, this can result to a larger network ng mga kaibigan lalo na sa social media.

Oh yeah why Titas of Manila hindi Alabang, BF o BGC etc..? I think hindi naman specific at kaylangan manileno ka, as long as you have that City like characteristics, katulad ng mga sinabi ko dito they have to be modern yet still old school, had that experience of pre internet but also knows the mainstream stuff such as social media, and electronics. I guess I think of them as a cool jolly yet someone na we all depend on, maging isang taong spoiler or someone na palagi tayong naiisip, and ang taong palaging nandyan at “nanginginig pa” Makita lang tayong mga inaanak nila.
